The U.S. Senate postponed the vote on John Bolton's nomination, according to the AP via the Rocky Mountain News [April 13, 2005, "Senate committee delays vote on Bolton"]. From the article, "President Bush's drive to make John R. Bolton the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations got sidetracked Wednesday as Senate Democrats forced a delay until next week of an important confirmation vote. In buying time, they hoped to win over a pivotal Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, by amassing evidence that Bolton harassed U.S. officials who challenged his judgment on weapons issues."
Josh Marshall: "Across the board, Tammany rule in the House, keystone kops loyalty tests at presidential events, tolerance and emulation of crankish attacks on sitting judges. This Republican party just isn't a constitutionalist party. It's just not."
