Friends say it's his wife, Columba, who closed the door,' Washington Whispers reports. Says a close Bush Florida political friend: 'His wife has just said no.'"

Oval Office 2008: "Virginia Republican Senator George Allen was the 'leading co-sponsor' of the recent Senate resolution offering an apology for failing to enact anti-lynching legislation in the past and the Richmond Times-Dispatch here suggests that his involvement could be helpful to him 'if controversial parts of his record on race were targeted' during a presidential campaign."

Oval Office 2008: "Associated Press doesn't seem to rate Iowa Democratic Governor Tom Vilsack's 2008 chances that highly."
