Stygius is reporting that, "Senator Warner, Armed Services Chairman, has issued a 'fair warning' blast to Don Rumsfeld that he's in for some public," scrutiny.

Wesley Clark is blogging at the TPMCafe. Clark writes, "It's really great to be joining you here at TPMCafe this week. I'd like to thank Josh Marshall for inviting me to participate in this terrific forum. I remember meeting and speaking with Josh for my first real blog interview of the 2004 presidential campaign, and I always enjoy reading his thoughts on the issues of the day.

"I'm looking forward to the dialog that we'll be having this week on many of the important issues facing America. And I'm also looking forward to sharing some of my experiences from the road during stops in Wisconsin and Iowa on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week."

The general is correct. Weblogs are a new type of conversation or dialogue.

You can't make this stuff up. KSAT.com: "The Rev. Fred Phelps, founder of Westboro Baptist Church in, Topeka, Kan., contends that American soldiers are being killed in Iraq as vengeance from God for protecting a country that harbors gays. The church, which is not affiliated with a larger denomination, is made up mostly of Phelps' children, grandchildren and in-laws." Thanks to TalkLeft for the link.

The permanent Iraqi constitution was presented to parliament on Sunday. Juan Cole writes, "So they had the ceremony, and the drafting committee (minus Sunni Arab members) presented the final draft of the permanent Iraqi constitution to parliament on Sunday. But parliament did not vote on it. The Sunni Arabs did not attend. Parliament has abdicated its responsibilities toward the constitution and put it in the lap of the October 15 national referendum. Al-Hayat aptly said that the Iraqi constitution has been delivered by caesarian section. It was plucked from the womb of the drafting committee before the latter could give birth to it naturally. Sunni negotiator Salih Mutlak called it 'a minefield.'"

Bull Moose: "Maybe Rudy should replace Rummy."
