Count Governor Owens in support of a fence along the Mexican border to cut down on illegal immigration, according to the Rocky Mountain News [Octobber 28, 2005, "Owens backs fence to close off U.S. border"].  From the article, "Gov. Bill Owens said he supports a high-tech fence along the 2,000- mile U.S.-Mexico border similar to what Israel is building on the West Bank.  He said he checked on the cost of the Israeli fence, which amounts to $1.6 million per mile. The cost for spanning the entire U.S.-Mexico border would add up to about $3.2 billion."
