Sunday's storm was mostly a plains phenomena, according to the Rocky Mountain News [April 12, 2005, "Storm does little for state's snowpack"]. From the article, "The Arkansas River Basin, in south-central Colorado, received the biggest boost from the storm, with snowpack rising to 128 percent of average, up from 125 percent on Friday, according to the NRCS. But farther north, in the South Platte and Upper Colorado basins, readings changed barely at all, registering 82 percent and 96 percent of average, respectively. Areas within those basins are even drier. Denver Water recorded snowpack readings of just 79 percent above its reservoirs in those two basins."
Aurora will have water restrictions again this summer, according to the Rocky Mountain News [April 12, 2005, "Aurora council sets watering curbs again"]. From the article, "The City Council set yet another cycle of outdoor watering restrictions Monday because the city's supplies remain low. The rules will be in effect May 1 through Sept. 30. Aurora's water-storage level is at 52 percent - eight percentage points less than the amount leaders say is needed to remove the restrictions. Residents who live at even number addresses will be able to water Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, while those who live at odd numbers can water Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays."
