Politics West: "Officials trying to figure out how to hold Colorado's 2008 elections have all but decided not to use the troubled electronic voting terminals that threw the elections into doubt, a state senator told his colleagues today. Sen. Ken Gordon, the co-chair of a task force looking at the election issues, said instead legislators and county clerks have decided to use paper ballots. "

From The Rocky Mountain News, "Mesa County Clerk Janice Rich has asked Secretary of State Mike Coffman to rescind his decision to decertify the county's electronic voting equipment, arguing that the reported flaws in the machines are unfounded and that security procedures prevent tampering. The county's appeal, sent Friday, is the first of numerous appeals expected before Wednesday's deadline."
