Denver November 2004 Election

Ben Nighthorse Campbell is having an easy time collecting dough for his re-election bid in the fourth quarter of last year, according to the Denver Post [January 30, 2004, "Campbell raises $565,953 in 4th quarter"].

Wired: "But to those who troll the blogosphere and who lauded Howard Dean's campaign (if not his candidacy), the reports of the death of Internet politics look premature. Just as the death of Pets.com and a hundred other startups did not destroy the World Wide Web, Howard Dean's failure to sweep Iowa and New Hampshire has not wiped the Web clean of politics. For a start, all the other candidates, following Dean's lead, still have campaign blogs. John Kerry, now the front-runner after wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, has raised more than $1.6 million online since his win in Iowa on Jan. 19."

Update: From e-mail from the Rocky Mountain News: "Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb today turned aside Democratic pleas to challenge Republican Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell this fall."
