Testing Radio Poster 1.1

Testing Radio Poster 1.1: This little app. is supposed to make it easier to post. I've been using BlogApp, which I really like, but it seems to have gotten a little buggy. What would be perfect is if I could get the custom tag dropdown menu from BlogApp, and the cool glossary feature of Radio Poster, all in one package. It looks like Radio Poster's developer, Will Leshner, is thinking about doing more work on the app, which would be great. Please do. Make it easy to post to multiple blogs (both MT and Radio), and a way (in addition to the glossary) to plug tags and other boilerplate into posts. Check out how BlogApp does it with the drop-down menu; that works well for me. Also, why is Radio Poster so slow? (There's a lag as if I'm typing over an internet connection or something...)  11:04:51 PM      comment

The art of terror; the terror of art

The art of terror; the terror of art: Commenting on Luke Helder, the Minnesota art student who is being charged with putting pipe bombs in midwestern mailboxes, Eric Raymond says:

It was inevitable, I suppose, that sooner or later terrorism would become bad performance art.

Wow. What follows is an interesting thumbnail sketch of a history of art that's at once a provocative testament to the power of blogs to elicit a fascinating range of responses to world events, as well as a frustrating example of the kind of surface-skimming dilettantism that blogs also tend to encourage. I mean, Raymond may be right on with his analysis of what art used to be and how it has degenerated today, but without any citations or background his call for forms of media situated in history and connected with the world comes out of nowhere. Is any form of media less historically situated and/or connected w/the world than the blog? Provocation is what Helder was aiming at, and in that he's like bloggers, no?   7:01:54 PM      comment
