Yesterday* I got a free issue of Inside Photoshop from Element K Journals (whose mega-original slogan is "Work Smarter, Not Harder".) This 16 page pamphlet (including both covers) contains such gems as "Modern digital cameras don't produce [grain]" and that you can "just take a photograph [of US currency] and scan that." In the best article they say that you can eliminate film grain by blurring the photograph and sharpen scans with Unsharp Mask. For all this, they want only $169 a year (half price until May,) for which you'll receive 12, 16 page (remember the covers) issues with more of the same kind of stuff. If you supply them with your email address (no privacy statement is offered) they'll send you a pdf with more tips.

I'm thinking "No Thanks". If you want similar, but more correct and useful information, take a look at Scott Kelby's The Photoshop CS Book for Digital Photographers. It's 40 bucks and 375 pages, not including the covers or TOC, ads in the back (a full page one for the Nikon D2H [heh]) and a white-gray-black calibration card for white balancing your photos.
* Sam-style "yesterday".
