Venture-backed Companies Often Fail as Public Firms
Recent performance data suggest that companies backed by venture capital underperform others. That could throw a wrench in the long-held strategy by some investors in initial public offerings to invest in new companies based on the reputation of the venture capitalists who originally backed them.
