I like this idea: modify smtp servers to compute the spamminess of emails as each one is coming in. If an email that is in progress appears likely to be spam, slow down the email connection to a crawl. This "could completely change the economics of spam, creating a scarcity of bandwidth experienced only by spammers." Check out the article by Marty Lamb. [Via Slashdot.]
