DVD Copyright Case Grinds Through Courts. Despite a strain on its finances, the San Francisco-based Electronic Frontier Foundation continues to challenge a 1988 copyright law that it says is unconstitutional. [The New York Times: Technology]. The EFF is one of the few Foundations I give money to. Their work is extremely important for all of us. Palm to Announce Completion of Spinoff of Software Unit. Palm plans to announce that it has completed the spinoff of its software division into a separate subsidiary, although it will remain Palm's largest customer. [The New York Times: Technology]. This is the begining of the end for Palm, how does a company forgets where it revenues comes from? Do they think that Handspring and Sony will sell their handhelds to a different crowd?
