President Chavez, where are you?
Every time something happens in Venezuela, the president disappears. Instead of showing himself in command he is nowhere to be seen. Nasty rumors abound that he gets depressed and has to be medicated whenever something happens. I don't know if that is the case, but is really estrange the way he looks for a big confrontation just to avoid it in the big moment... weird, no?

Either this is all a lie or Sony is really stupid...
Dion disc could bring PCs to a standstill. A European version of the vocalist's new album carries copy-protection technology that could crash the PCs and Macs of listeners who ignore a warning label. [CNET News.com]
Well, I have the CD here and I am listening to it in my computer (Mac OS X) and have also hear it using Windows 2000 and Linux... Either there is no such copy protected disc or the Venezuelan version is not copy protected. If anyone out there has a copy protected disc I will exchange it for this not copy protected disc. He

No gasoline in Venezuela
PDVSA has gone into an administrative strike, gas stations are not receiving gas... The lines at gas stations are incredible... I decided not to put gas as the situation may improve soon. Will this be the end of this sad government?

Your claim that "no new sites have come along to captivate the casual surfer" is pure hogwash.
Letters to the Editor. The Web Grows Up
Re "As the Web Matures, Fun Is Hard to Find" (March 28): As the owner and publisher of Cool Site of the Day (www.coolsite.com), I can tell you that a day doesn't go by that I am not utterly amazed by the creativity and passion exhibited by the sites I review. (Just yesterday I found electrotank.com, karber.net /textbased/pong/default.htm and epillusions.com/whatswrong.htm. Two hours later I got back to "work.")
I have also been quite amused by the scores of outstanding children's sites, including noggin.com, www.randomhouse.com/seussville, bobthebuilder.org and www.nickjr .com. Your claim that "no new sites have come along to captivate the casual surfer" is pure hogwash.

Latin America's Muzzled Press. Democracy may have spread throughout Latin America, but the widespread curtailment of press freedoms is worrisome. From the outset of his rule, Venezuela's president, Hugo Chávez, targeted the traditionally free media, viewing them as a threat to his combative brand of left-wing authoritarianism. He routinely launches into diatribes against the press, and his followers have physically attacked media outlets.
