When ignorance becomes the norm...
In The Elements of Common Sense, John Rosenthal talks about good grammar while defending ignorance. He says: "People with master's degrees in English still sometimes confuse "its" and "it's," which should remind us that the rules of punctuation can be as hard to remember as the Pythagorean theorem."
Anyone can make a mistake, few people forget the rules of punctuation if they think about it, they just do not think about them when they, perhaps, should. Any person that wants to considered itself educated has to remember the Pythagorean Theorem and, at least, one of its proof. Otherwise, you are favoring ignorance... Knowing less than the greeks knew centuries ago...
