This will prove a mistake. Microsoft sustains its dominance due to older versions of Windows, then tries moves like this to force upgrades, but ends up alienating its users. That's one reason you rarely find happy Windows users, they all feel they are being pushed into upgrades they really don't want.

Windows Vista will be the second most-fun-made-of Windows name, after the big Winner Windows Me? No, thanks. For me, Windows, Hasta-la-vista is the winner for the Macfiosi, though Windows VISTA= Virii, Infections, Spyware, Trojans and Adware is a close second. Scoble sees a lot of discussion in his site about this and closely related topics, including questions by yours truly that he just won't answer.
