Foreign Currency Trading suspended.

The Venezuelan Central bank has suspended foreign currency trading for the next five days....here we go again... the more things change, the more they stay the same...

[The Devil's Excrement]

Historically in Venezuela exchange controls have meant more money for the rich and more corruption in the government. Given the attitude of Chávez government (the actions not the discourse) I predict that this will be the same but with a ten fold in quantity...

On other news, the supreme court has basically called off the referendum, deleting the best hope to stop the strike with some dignity. The government, with the help of the court, is aiming at destroying the economy to get rid of the opposition and get rid of the electoral commission. I'm not saying they will get rid of this commission, I'm saying there won't be an independent electoral commission ever more. That is their plan for the perpetuation of power. It won't work for long, but it will take blood, sweat, and tears to bring them down.
