According to my pro-Chavez friends the Venezuelan opposition doesn't have enough support to gather the signatures required to recall Chavez and that is why they are making so much noise about possible ways the chavistas can screw them up. This may or may not be true, but they have a point: The opposition is wrong to consider they have won the fight (both in gathering the signatures and in the recall vote itself), they need to find ways to motivate people to sign and vote. The rumours about threats to government employes that sign discourages people and may reduce the number of signatures gathered. Saying that is easy to gather the signatures does the same... Are we seeing another mistake by the opposition?
My friends also claim that some opposition parties (including AD) will not help with the gathering of signatures...
