The Digital Library of India. The Digital Library of India
(DLI) aims to provide "free access to all human knowledge" starting
with "a free-to-read, searchable collection of one million books,
predominantly in Indian languages." It already has about 100,000 books
online. The DLI is part of the Universal Library
project from Carnegie Mellon, which has the same goals, though it will
start with English-language literature. (Thanks to Subbiah
Arunachalam.) [Open Access News]
