ePortfolio Plugfest and LIFE learner information meeting.

I had the pleasure of attending ePortfolio 2005 a couple of weeks ago in Cambirdge, England, and I’m finally getting around to writing up some of my notes. The conference proper was preceded by an ePortfolio plugfest. Because I was participating in the concurrently-scheduled LIFE meeting in learner information, I was only able to attend the morning session. I left with the sense that developers were further along than I had imagined they would be. Giunti Labs' Learn eXact ePortfolio features a complete implementation of IMS ePortfolio and is commercially available now. TELCERT has developed a conformance testing tool, which was configured to test conformance to both IMS ePortfolio and UK-LeaP. Several projects, such as PebblePAD and LUSID, demonstrated moving portfolio data in the later format. TELCERT has also developed an open source application profiling tool, which looks quite impressive.
