Hmmm ... I've successfully applied the crafty HTML illiterate's trick of simply overwriting the Default theme's header1.gif, headerBg.gif, and other images with new ones, along with changing the color value for the "Updated" (public) or menu (desktop) bar on the top, so now my home page looks neat as a pin. Click on an earlier date on the calendar, however, and you'll see the old version with the Transmitter theme and broken graphics. Oh, well, at least simply editing and viewing this foolish Weblog myself, with no actual outside visitors, used enough hits to put me in the Radio top 50 list ...

21-0: The UConn Huskies dominated again, taking 80-53 revenge on the 2001 national champions (Notre Dame beat UConn in last year's NCAA semis).

Yes, I've noticed that using a nonbreaking space to keep "Hardware Central" and other longish links on one line has a graphic-breaking effect or pushes the left-side navigation bar's background image out of alignment ... I'm going to try editing or tweaking the theme (Default looks like it might be a bit easier to reverse-engineer than Transmitter), but Radio really needs more themes besides just those two (news flash: a third, Adult Contemporary, was just posted, but looks bland and buggy on my IE 6 system) and easier ways for civilians to customize their sites. But it's great that Radio is so obviously a work in rapid progress, with enhancements like the spam-proof e-mail button arriving almost daily.

Working at home with the office closed for Dr. King Day; channel-surfed during lunch break and heroically resisted Godzilla 2000, the film that restored the big guy's career (and his original body) after the giant-gecko Hollywood flop of 1998. The Flick Filosopher MaryAnn Johanson's review said it all:
TOKYO (AP) -- Downtown Tokyo was leveled last night for the 23rd time in 50 years in a daring twilight rampage by Godzilla. Anti-monster sirens blared minutes before the attack, allowing thousands of citizens to escape injury by fleeing the area, although one vegetable-stand owner was heard to scoff, "Bah! Godzilla..." before being stomped to death by the beast. Police officials were quoted as saying "Aaahhhhh! Godzilla!!!!"
... Do you think Godzilla insurance is available to homeowners and business owners in Japan? How nice it must be to open the newspaper over your rice and tea in the morning and read: "Today: sunny and warm, with a 20 percent chance of Godzilla." An okay day to open the shop, then.
