Argument 'Indeed, reading a new CNN document, "Reminder of Script Approval Policy", fairly takes the breath away. "All reporters preparing package scripts must submit the scripts for approval," it says. "Packages may not be edited until the scripts are approved... All packages originating outside Washington, LA (Los Angeles) or NY (New York), including all international bureaus, must come to the ROW in Atlanta for approval."'The article includes an example of a story which showed the Israelis in a bad light which was not approved until a lie was built into the script to make them look better.

Twilight of the CD? Not if It Can Be Reinvented. With the online swapping of songs growing at a crippling rate, the CD is being rethought, repackaged and, in some cases, repriced. Of course having two formats was a disastrous move.

I was just about to write something about mirosoft's total domination of lameness with their new product Three Degrees, when Yoz Grahame came running to answer the door. [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog] 'It's part of a worrying trend MS have been displaying recently that I'll call (for want of something wittier) feature-creep-away. Version 7.0 of Windows Media Player (a.k.a The Huge Blue Useless One) removed the ability to install .mov support. Now the latest version has removed streaming MP3 and AVI support (i.e. play during download). The lockdown has started. It's more than just "Trusted Computing"; they're trying to be Apple '90.' It's a hilarious review. This person is funny. .mov files, by the way, are QuickTime files and QuickTime is a format Apple developed.

Threats, Promises and Lies 'But the rest of the world simply doesn't trust Mr. Bush either to honor his promises or to tell the truth. Can we run a foreign policy in the absence of trust? The administration apparently thinks it can use threats as a substitute.'A properly righteous rant about what I've been going on about for some time here: Bush has no credibility.
