'The trend toward crushing victory indicated Mr. Martin will be the unofficial prime-minister-des-ignate by Sunday night, five months before Prime Minister Jean Chrétien is scheduled to step down.
With that prospect of two lead-ers of the governing party both sitting in the House of Commons, Liberal government insiders said there was increasing speculation that Mr. Chrétien would prorogue the Commons by Nov. 7, closing Parliament until he leaves office.'

'The pub owner was critical of what he saw as the media frenzy around the storm.
"Give me a break," he said. "It's water, it's rain, it's a hurricane. It's not an earthquake."' The National Post had a fun front page today. They were poking fun at the hype saying that CNN was 'crestfallen' that Isabel hadn't lived up to its billing.
