Bloggin' with 2 monitors - I've been meaning to drop this in after an email discussion with another blogger. Are you a bloggin' and not running 2 monitors ? Oh man, once you get the dual-head monitors going, you'll never go back.
I run a Matrox G550 with two 19" monitors @ 1600 x 1200 (Windoze 98SE). I ran a G450 Matrox previously and upgraded so I could run both 19s at the higher resolution. When you register the card, you can then download this pup, eDualHead . eDualHead allows you to operate in PageJump mode with a browser open on each monitor (unfortunately IE only). While you read through the news aggregator or someone's blog, you control-click on a link (which with Logitech Mouseware is a one hand operation) and the other monitor displays the link. I keep the Radio news aggregator on the right monitor. I read on the left. I actually would like a tri-head as I still sometimes get ahead of the game.
When I first got two monitors running awhile back, I was amazed how much the extra real estate helps productivity. A 21" monitor is nice but two 19's runs circles around one 21". When Radio arrived in January, I found the ultimate app for this functionality. It is also quite depressing to go to work and have to work with only one monitor which is down right claustrophobic. The tech wreck fixed this problem, I don't work :-(

This is the pic I've mentioned to a few recently. A dirty little kitten @ 5 weeks getting a bath.

As I find more and more nuggets in Scott's blog, the pics have been bugging me for a week or so.
This is one of my pet peeves. These kinds of pics are all over the web. Most like to put a face with a name especially with bloggers who you read each day but might never speak to let alone meet. Sometimes even when people do post a pic, you get a picture but you still can't really see anything.
So, a quick detour this afternoon. I won't link to them until I get his attention and blessing first.

Wifi: How to Read More Blogs
Yet again LinkSys has made me a happy customer. I keep hearing about Wifi from people and I'm jealous of Natrak who can blog from his deck so I took the plunge. I've even been told: "I know all about it , even my gf has WiFi" by a reader. Clearly my "geek street cred" was being threatened. A quick trip to my favorite mail order place, www.pcconnection.com, a wireless PCMCIA card and a WiFi hub and I'm now blogging from the kitchen table instead of my desk chair. Sec...
Now I'm blogging from the front porch. I'm not in this picture but I am right near the window at the center of the front porch.

Now, here's the beauty of it all -- I can read content in the aggregator -- without being at my desk. Now that's how to read more blogs. Wicked cool.
About the Hardware
Worked like a champ. Literally plug and play. Install a driver and away I went. It took longer to restart Windows than it did to get connectivitity. I just love LinkSys. I've never had a bad LinkSys experience. How many companies can you say that about? And, no, I don't own stock (not even sure if they are public or not).
Radio and WiFi
One tip though: http://127.0.0.1:5335/ no longer works in Internet Explorer on Windows. Instead I have to use http://localhost:5335/. No idea why -- the 127.0.0.1:5335 works in Mozilla but not in I.E. Strange. [The FuzzyBlog!]

After reading Cory's comment on Boing Boing, I decided to mirror tinsel.swf on scripting.com, to help spread out the bandwidth cost. Millions of people should see the cartoon and sing the song. I've already listened to it at least 35 times. It's okay to brainwash yourself, btw. [Scripting News] // Fair use at its finest.

Stop the CBDTPA - Oh man this is great. We don't watch the commercials. We are not stealing. We are using the latest technology to make their business model appear antiquated. As this happens, if it truly is antiquated some will react, change and thrive. Others, will litigate, lobby and eventually ...........R.I.P.
