Werbach: "Listening to Tony Blair's address last night on the radio, my wife and I couldn't help but feel that the world would be a better place if his home were #1600 Pennsylvania rather than #10 Downing." [Scripting News] // Amen.

stop the madness.

It is very difficult to sit back and watch all the mahem going on around us and not participate somewhere.  I'm not permitted to take any position for or against nearly everything---but I take a strong postition for Liberty.  Liberty is neutral-period.

Those who have been in opposition of the war are being put down and pulled out as unpatriotic.  A.M. radio got me pretty pissed today.  People were saying protestors "made them sick."  I guess these folks find killing and destruction more palatable than a protestor.  What's wrong with this picture?

AT&T Broadband / Comcast or I'd rather eat glass than be an AT&T customer.[via The FuzzyBlog!// Can I get an amen ?  AT&T are great example of the "malefactors of great wealth" in the McCain story below They have been stealing money from people for years.  I gave up doing business with AT&T many years ago.  When they call and try to get me to change to their phone service, I tell them I wouldn't do business with them for all the money in the world.  Some of the brave telemarketers are amazed at the hate this company inspires in me.  Treat your customers well and you will have me for as long as you maintain this respect for your customers, even it if costs me a few extra dollars.  Stick it to me once due you your companies greed and you will lose me as a customer for life.

Fortune.  Gotta love McCain:

McCain sees himself as a Republican in the mold of Theodore Roosevelt--who famously described himself as an enemy of "malefactors of great wealth."

internal memo mtv. I hadn't heard of internalmemos.com until today. What an excellent site. Now see how the media works from the inside out with this memo regarding what videos should air on MTV during the war. For more MTV fun look here. [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog //  These folks have an awesome idea but incredibly poor implementation.  They want $45 a month.  For $45 a month they best be my chaffeur for the month also.

Young U.S. Marines Get First Combat Test. Lance Cpl. Joseph Willems was approaching one of many bunkers dug into Iraq's desert when he saw the muzzle fire. "I looked down and saw shots being fired, and I just went 'ooooh,' and jumped back," said the 19-year-old Marine from Kenosha, Wis. "Saw a guy in a blue sweat shirt, and took a hip shot with my saw." With his "saw" - slang for machine gun - Willems killed the Iraqi soldier in the first action...

  • "The only time I freaked was when I saw his eyes, and my weapon jammed. I kept backing up and it kept jamming," said Willems.
  • "I didn't want to get shot so I shot him first," Cpl. Juan B. Elenes, 21, of Portland, Ore. said about two of the Iraqis who refused to give up
  • "I was OK until I saw one of our own Marines dead. I thought, 'Oh, we can die too," said Lance Cpl. Daymond Geer, 20,
  • "I pray whenever I can before doing something crazy,"
  • "You're shooting. It's not training anymore. It's combat. It's pretty scary. It changes everything."
  • 'Oh my God, am I going to have to shoot that guy?'"

Nancy Chamberlain, of Winslow, Maine, said she admired television networks and their war coverage, but for families of the military, "it's murder."

"It's heartbreak," she said. "We can't leave the television. Every tank, every helicopter - `is that my son?' And I just need you to be aware that technology is, it's great, but there are moms, there are dads, there are wives out there that are suffering because of this. That's all. That's why I'm doing this."

The eyes of Brokaw, and some of the retired military officials who joined him on the set in New York, got misty.

"It's inappropriate for me to become this emotional about it," Brokaw said.
