I'm back from our fabulous NYC Canada Day weekend vacation. Me, Jen, Matt, and Natalie left KW Friday morning in the Neon to spent the long weekend in New York City: fighting midtown rush hour traffic, seeing the Tragically Hip, sleeping "a little too close" to each other in our tiny $100US/night hotel room, riding around on the most confusing subway system ever, touring the new MoMA in Queens, and walking, sooo much walking ... It was a fun trip and I'm sure Matt will post pictures soon. One thing I'd like to say is that I will never pay to see the Hip at the ACC or similar large venue again. I've never really enjoyed those stadium concerts where you sit in the upper deck squinting at the distant band on stage. However, at Irving Plaza, it didn't even take extrordinary effort to get a spot right in the front row. Being close enough to actually see Gordie do his thing made it actually worth the money and effort we invested in the experience.
