Good News for Independent Film Makers The Landmark Theatres chain the United States has announced that it is equipping 177 screens across all 53 of its theatres with digital projection systems, which will give it the most digital projection, equipped screens in the United States. The chain is known for showing independent films and it notes that by switching to digital projection the need for expensive film versions of movies can be avoided. The films shown will be encoded using Windows Media Series 9 software, a fact that sent the Slashdot crowd into frenzy. 11:57:11 PM

It appears that Belgium is revamping its War Crimes Law and will take the approach I suggested - complaints against figures from democratic countries that guarantee a fair trial will be forwarded to the country in question. This should put an end to complaints against Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Needless to say The Guardian is upset with this reasonable change in the law. 11:39:34 PM
