Saddam Hussein: Fantasy Art Collector? US troops have found a split-level, one-bedroom town house in a central Baghdad that they believe is was one of Saddam Hussein's safe houses that is decorated in a style from the 1960’s: shag carpets, mirrored bedrooms, and a king-size bed. A CNN article includes a picture of one wall, on which is a painting that they describe as a "buxom woman chained to a barren desert mountain ledge, with a huge dragon diving down to kill her with sharpened talons." Fantasy fans have identified it as a work by fantasy artist Rowena Morrill. Some state that since it appears to be missing her signature it is probably a copy. This is made more likely by the fact that when Hussein had published the novel, Zabibah and the King he cover art was a copy of the work The Awakening by Jonathon Earl Bowser with three more of his works as copied inside art. On the other hand Rowena had she sold that painting and another found in the house to a collector years ago and has not heard about them since. So maybe Hussein did buy them. 12:11:48 AM ![]() |
From the description it sounds like Enterprise will be copying Babylon 5: Crusade. 12:10:11 AM ![]() |
