The Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Spirit has successfully landed on Mars and signaled home after coming to rest following its parachute, retro-rocket, and air bag assisted landing. Photographs from the lander may even be available tonight but the rover will not start movement for at least nine days. 11:55:48 PM

The Stardust probe has successfully photgraphed and taken samples of the dust from the tail of the Comet Wild 2 and is now on its way to return the samples to Earth in 2006. 1:21:31 PM
