NYT.  Californians are upset at Bush over Florida oil deal.  I agree that this stinks.  California, welcome to plight of Massachusetts.  The problem with being a dependable state (for either party), and not a battleground state, is you get the shaft from both parties.  This is a hollow threat:

>>>"We're delighted for our friends in Florida and for the environment in Florida," Ms. Nichols said, "but I can assure you California can match Florida vote for vote" when election time arrives.<<< [John Robb's Radio Weblog]

Right on, only a fool would care what Californians think, they will vote for whatever Democrat runs. I live in a Republican district in a democratic state (MN). I only vote for Governor and Senator, all other positions are a done deal!

A picture named friedman.gifYesterday I heard three-time Pulitzer-winning NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman on NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross. Disclaimer: I hate Thomas Friedman. He became "part of the story" when he suggested to the Saudi prince that he go public with his peace plan for the Middle East. He did make a good point, which I managed to hear through my seething hatred. In the Far East, the political leaders traded democracy for prosperity, and fifty years later, they have democracy too. (Is he talking about Singapore?) In the Middle East, the leaders traded democracy for fifty years of war with Israel. No prosperity. The Arab people, most of whom are under 30 (seventy percent!) are not happy about this. Makes sense.  [Scripting News]

Pocket Blog. Found Pocket Blog[ via Scripting News]. Here's the documentation for the program. Between using my iPod to take Radio and this blog with me anywhere and the ability to post wirelessly via 802.11b card in my iPaq, I'm a very wired blogger these days. I'll post my review of this program once I get a chance to try it out.

Oh, and Dave also mentions that he doesn't want an iPod. :-( [C.K. Sample, III: my iPod blog]

BlogConnector. Scott Johnson has a work in progress: "BlogConnector is a service that helps people find related blogs. It is based on a cool idea by Matt Mower... What it does is extract from your blog a set of keywords that represent your interests as well as the links from your blog that you find represent your interest. You can then indicate which links / keywords represent you and search our database for blogs like this." [Jake's Radio 'Blog]

Found it! iBlog!. Finally, I found someone who linked to the site where I originally got the idea to run Radio off of my iPod. Here it is:
Paolo is using his iPod to run Radio and transfer it between his home and work. I use an iBook to do this, but an iPod is twice as cool. [Mike Cannon-Brookes: Apple & OSX]
