National Post:  Eves appalled as students get credit for going to rally.  Students encouraged to attend anti-government rallies by their principal and trustees should not earn community service credits, outraged parents and politicians urged yesterday. Ontario's Premier and the province's Education Minister lashed out after learning that some Toronto students were advised by school administrators they could earn points toward a mandatory volunteerism component by attending an education protest rally last week.  [MyFreePress.com]

Wait a minute - wouldn't the student's attending such a rally have educational value and possibly even contribute to the student's desire to be of service to the community?  Or is participation in an event only worthy of credit if the event agrees with the politics of Ontario's "Conservative Premier" Ernie Eves and parents who support his politics?  Just random thoughts from an outsider...
