Embedded Python

"Freedom Force is a game developed by Irrational Games. It uses an embedded Python 1.52 interpreter and much of the game logic is written in python and accessible by the end user." [from The Vaults of Parnassus]

Cool! You can download a demo from many sites, including Gamespot.

wxPython Mac wiki

I've created a wxPython Mac wiki page to capture the key items that come out of the wxPython-mac mailing list discussions. MachoPython (Unix Python) issues will also be covered, since it is necessary to use MachoPython with wxPython with the current build of wxPython Mac.

Bill Bumgarner has put together "some decent starting points for setting up an effective development environment with OS X." Thanks Bill!

Five years ago I stopped using Macs for a number of reasons and switched to Windows NT 4 and then later Windows 2000. For the last ten months, I've been working on PythonCard, which is a cross-platform framework for building desktop applications with Python. The GUI toolkit, wxPython, that PythonCard relies on is now available for OS X, so yesterday I got a G4 Mac.

As I return to the Mac with its new OS, I'll be documenting a lot of what I learn, pointing to the best resources I find, and making a few comments along the way.
