"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children - not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women - not merely peace in our time but peace for all time." -- JFK

Meanwhile, Jon Udell [oreillynet.com] finds that bloggers have discovered backlinks. That's nice. It's what I love about America. Stuff that anybody who ever thought about it thought was extremely important becomes important when the people who never thought about it figure it out. Put it another way: there are essential elements, that just *will* come out. Americans may not think far ahead, but we are irrepressible.

Hey! We're back live on DaveNet Dave's Ever-Lovin' Radio. RadioRadio was having fits (not a matter of Fitts's Law) for days. Oh those nasty web exploits. The bottom line is that security is freaking hard, and there are all kinds of things you have to do right, that you wouldn't know about unless you're primary business was security. Attention is the scarce resource here. So amateurs like us need close ties to the pros who can make all of this possible. Somebody sane should give Chris Nye, for instance, oodles of $$$.
