Comments sought on Model Policy for Public Access to Court Records

The National Center for State Courts and the Justice Management Institute are soliciting comments on a proposed Model Policy on privacy and public access to court records.  A web site has been created to disseminate the draft policy, and to provide background information and directions for submitting comments.  The web site will be open for comment through 4/15/2002.  Electronic comments may be emailed to modelpolicy@ncsc.dni.us.

Comments may be submitted by regular mail to:

Martha Wade Steketee
National Center for State Courts Washington Office
2425 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 350
Arlington, VA 22201.

All comments should be received by 5:00 p.m. April 15, 2002 and must include the name, mailing address and phone number of the commentator. All comments should also include an e-mail address and a fax number, where available, as well as an indication of whether the commentator is interested in participating in a public hearing, if one is held. The tentative date for this hearing is May 17, 2002 in Washington, DC.
