Rory Perry's Weblog Law, technology, and the courts RSS feed as entry page in server logs I just checked the July 2002 server logs for the Web page of the WV Supreme Court, where I publish several pages as categories from within Radio. I noticed an interesting thing. For the month of July, the URL of one of my RSS feeds (containing topical summaries and links to the full text of new WV Supreme Court opinions) jumped to the #6 entry page for the Court's Web site. This is significant, especially for the month of July, which is the end of the court term when a lot of opinions are posted. I had previously despaired that no one was following these fine public information feeds. But before I get too excited, I have some questions for those who are more familiar with server logs. How are the URLs of entry pages discovered? If a subscriber to the RSS feed in question clicks a link to one of my items in Radio's aggregator, would the URL of my RSS feed show up as the entry page? Or are these hits coming from other aggregators? Or somewhere else entirely? 5:10:47 PM [Permanent Link]
