Afternoon in the life of one appellate court clerk Explaining what I do for the Court can be difficult, so there are times when the short answer to the question "What do you do for a living?" is, simply -- "paperwork." This afternoon's evidence: - 28 pro se/inmate letters answered
- 21 procedural motions reviewed
- 68 orders reviewed
- 1.5 feet of new inbox material sorted
- 12 argument docket cases reviewed
The highlight of my day was a 1.5 hour in-house course on court procedure I conducted for a new employee and refresher course for other employees. And, as always, I enjoy the oddball procedural puzzles that arrive through calls form attorneys and others. Today's tally: 5 puzzles solved. Pretty good bang for the taxpayer's buck, if I say so myself. 5:07:27 PM [Permanent Link]
