Rory Perry's Weblog Law, technology, and the courts Independent judiciary on the Web Thanks to a programming change implemented by the Executive branch, the new WV.gov portal header no longer forces itself into a frame that persists on West Virginia Supreme Court Web sites. As was the case in Utah, the judicial branch in West Virginia has maintained its cyber-independence. Here's a sampling of other states with Web sites that convey a unified, independent judiciary, with no sign of a tying arrangement with an executive branch portal (other than perhaps a link to the state's main page): In my non-exhaustive search, only one of the state judicial Web sites, that of Indiana, contained a persistent header that provided navigation to a main state portal, Access Indiana. 8:36:34 AM [Permanent Link]
