Funding technology through feesIf you pay a speeding ticket in Pennsylvania, you're helping to fund court technology. The Pennsylvania court system is undertaking a statewide effort to network the records of all trial courts In Pennsylvania and to provide public access. The $38 million project is funded exclusively through fees collected from traffic tickets. Maximizing court technology funding was the topic of several papers presented at the 8th National Court Technology Conference. OTHER COURT TECH TIDBITS: David Fletcher reports on the XML data model for exchanging justice data. In other encouraging news, state bar leaders in Utah are considering rollout of RSS content.
One of my new favorite sites, the Court Technology Forum has posted a sample RFP for high-tech courtrooms that looks helpful. 5:01:46 PM [Permanent Link]
