Examples of Phrase Searching in Feedster
People have wanted true phrase searching in Feedster since, I don't know, about .34 seconds since I first released Feedster. And everyone's been very, very patient in waiting for it. And I appreciate that but its now here.
Examples:
- Let's say you're Dave Winer and want to see what others are saying about you
- Or you might be Anil Dash
- or Micah Alpern
- or Mark Pilgrim -- and if you use Movable Type, you probably want to read his stuff on smilies
- or Russell Beattie
- or Jenny Levine
- or Chris Pirillo
- Or you might run the website Microdoc News and want to see what people are saying about you
- Or you might run the New England Journal of Medicine and be aware that "hey people out there are talking about us!"
- Or you might make a product named Inbox Buddy and want to see who is talking about it
- Or you might just have a problem programming open cursors in Oracle and be looking for knowledge
- Or maybe you're a product manager looking for people saying your product sucks
Miscellaneous
Via "My Single Mom", I found out that Blogrolling has a new look and feel. Very cool. Blogshares is all the rage and on a giggle I checked out my two main blogs -- FuzzyBlog and Feedster blog.
- Feedster -- $4.15 per share
- FuzzyBlog -- $1.21 per share
Now how do I interpret that? Are people that much more interested in content on Feedster versus my usual drivel or is it recognition of the overall worth of Feedster? Time will tell I guess.
Sidebar
This is one of those days where I'm strongly divided whether or not computers and working at home is the best thing in the world or is just as tasty as green slime. Although I don't get sick often, I'm down with a cold / sore throat / fever bug and what am I doing? That's right working. If I had a real job, I'd have a "sick day" (odd concept that). Of course according to the Wall Street Journal at least people are now afraid to use their sick days lest they get laid off. So maybe its all the same in the end. 'Nuff said. I'm going back to bed with a warm fuzzy kitty and lots of orange juice. Yeah I still believe that whole vitamin C thing.

Disclaimer: Inbox Buddy is an enhancement for Microsoft Outlook that "makes email suck (a lot) less". Its also a product of mine.
