Advice to Product Managers: Talk to Real Live Users

Its not often that I stay up past midnight.  Particularly talking to a person of the non-female persuasion but when I do its definitely worthwhile.  I spent over an hour last night talking to Robert Scoble about Feedster (mostly) and all I can say to product managers is "Talk to Real Live Users.  Often.  And LISTEN".  Robert gave me tons of great, great feedback.  Am I going to implement it all?  I'd love to but there are always real world constraints.  But what he did give me was the benefit of his perspective -- and that's just plain invaluable.  Thanks man.

So if you're a product manager of any type, what real live user did you talk to this week?  Oh you didn't?  Then go do so.  Its well worth it.

(And since Feedster doesn't have a product manager separate from me, one of the developers, I am the product manager.  The developer is often if not always a product's 1st product manager).
