Zope Page Templates
More Page Templates (a buttal of sorts?) (I strongly dislike the whole header/footer inclusion idea proffered by so many templating languages, which require you to maintain balance between two separate files/objects to try to give some notion of "standard look" to a site. METAL is much more along the lines of Dreamweavers and GoLive's Templates idea, where a page has editable "slots" between commonly shared data, and can thus be edited as a whole page). [Industrie Toulouse]
Amen. Trying to force an html page into tiny pieces of code is begging for trouble. I wrote a huge site like that in '98 and the guy who should have been maintaining it couldn't because he couldn't grasp all the includes. I ended up stuck in charge of every little spelling update until the day I left. Need I say never again? I can't believe that people would still build sites that way. I mean even the guys doing FuseBox have more of a clue than that =) (note: I'm not taking shots at Hal Helms and crew, it's just that ColdFusion training courses actively promoted that kind of design. I wonder if they still do.) Anyhow, read the rest of Jeffery's post. He gives a good overview of the pros/cons of Page Templates in different situations.

Zope/CMF Blogger API
This actually happened a couple of days ago, but I've been busy. Nathan Sain has put together an implementation of the Blogger API for Zope/CMF. I'm working with a couple of other people to build an actual tool out of it, but email me if you can't wait that that long. Make sure to check out his RPCAuth product for authentication against zope over xml-rpc.

Fighting with DCWorkflow
Spent most of the day fighting with DCWorkflow. Everything was working pretty well, until I wanted different Reviewers for each department of the company to have separate worklists. Hopefully this thread from the zope-cmf list will help. Oh, and this recipie from ZopeLabs looks helpful. Ugh... Zope 3 workflow should do a better job at handling such a seemingly common requirement. Of course saying that means that I should actually do something about it.

Sometimes Google Sucks
Why is is always such a pain in the ass for me to find the download for DCWorkflow? Google can't ever seem to find what should probably be the no. 1 link for it. Oh well, maybe this will be a small step in tipping the balance. =) (BTW DCWorkflow is a workflow tool for the CMF and Zope if you've never heard of it)
