Serious Lego - This robot solves the 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube. I used to love building things in lego when I was a kid and recently I came across a link from AthlonOC that showed how lego has progressed in the last few years. A bloke by the name of JP Brown has a site on his lego creations of which one was using Lego Mindstorms to solve the Rubik's Cube. I am amazed at how technical Lego has become and wished that it was like this when I was young. I found that solving the Rubik's Cube was boringly easy, all you had to do was hold the cube in one position with one hand and then with the other hand turn the bottom row once to the right then the right row once away from you and repeat these two steps until it was solved. Sometimes this would happen in less than 15 minutes. However I think Mr. Brown's task was not to solve the Rubik's Cube but to simply enjoy making a Lego robot that would solve it. I can't say that still have the same interest in Lego that I used to as a child but if this is the sort of thing that turns you on, wonder over to JB Brown's site for a look at the creations he has come up with.
