firefox iconRemember Phoenix ? Mozilla Firebird's dev team is changing the name of my favorite browser once again.

The Mozilla Foundation today announced the immediate availability of a new preview release of its next generation web browser, Mozilla Firefox. Mozilla Firefox 0.8 represents the bleeding edge of Internet technology and raises the bar for ease of use, performance, robustness and standards compliance.
This Firefox business reminds me of an 80's Clint Eastwood movie :-)

Firefox is now based on Gecko/20040206, which truely makes it the most standards compliant browser ever. No other browser comes even close. Apple's KHTML based Safari lags at least a year behind, probably more like two, specially since standards compatibilty has never been at the top of Apple's agenda, whatever their marketing campaign might have said. Smooth browsing of the Apple Music Store through iTunes is much more important revenue wise, I guess :-)

Karen Kwiatkowski: I witnessed neoconservative agenda bearers within OSP usurp measured and carefully considered assessments, and through suppression and distortion of intelligence analysis promulgate what were in fact falsehoods to both Congress and the executive office of the president.
Dave Winer: I'd like to make a constructive offer to the people who are working on Atom.
Albert Delgado: I think Userland has the more important job of updating its products, from the kernel on out.
Philip Miseldine: So, what I'm thinking is, why not provide a stylesheet (XSLT or something else, perhaps) that tells the aggregator how to consume your feed to produce descriptions.
Davenet: A Bright Future for Syndication.
Amit Singh: Mac OS X is perhaps one of the best examples of how a capable system can result through the direct or indirect efforts of corporations, academic and research communities, the Open Source and Free Software movements, and even individuals.
