The discussion talks about the challenge of the technology architecture whereas the real success lies in the social experience architecture. Its really a people problem. Those people that say we really need a central solution probably have not played with a groove type approach. The beauty of groove is its foundation on peoples natural need to form ad hoc social structures around those intersecting spheres of trust. They still need to recognize that technology is always socially embedded.
