"Business Week, of all places, has a clear-headed analysis of the dead-end that the music industry has driven itself into." I like this summary. I don't think the general public is aware yet of how badly the RIAA and MPAA want to control everyone's consumption of music and movies, but I can imagine the day when some poor shmoe in Iowa buys the latest CD and it won't work in his CD player. There are a lot of people out there who are totally willing to call their congress-guy and complain about stuff like this. There's a big rant here, but I don't have time to write it right now, I'm working on other things. [Scripting News]

Zach wanted to be a firefighter for Halloween. We really tried not to overplay the whole 9/11 thing. He's been into firetrucks for a long while now. At first, anything with flashing lights on top (including police cars and ambulances) was a firetruck. He's able to distinguish cop cars now, but he still gets confused with ambulances. It must just be a kid thing. Getting to ride in a big truck and wearing a cool outfit and spraying water, what could be a better job?
