In this story on Ars Technica, Hannibal sifts through all the available evidence and decides that there is or was a joint effort between Sun and Apple, and that the original CNET article was in fact a faithful interview and in accord with all facts. Since he is a historian by professional training (I think), he is used to weighing the various documents and sifting out motives and truth behind these things, so I would tend to trust him on this.
