There are things that we know we know. There are things that we know we don't know. For example, rocket science. There are things that we don't know we know. These are all the customs of the community that we take for granted, common sense, etc. The most dangerous, however, are the things we don't know we don't know. This is where we get blind-sided. Moving these into the "things we know we don't know" variety makes the risks estimable. Big step forward.
