Peter Van Dijck: Introduction to XFML

Peter Van Dijck: Introduction to XFML. [Scripting News]

Good article, and the spec is simple enough to read.

Implementing support for it could be a great addition to our Portal search features: let users of a portal share their facets, and have some standards ones defined at the role level.

Russel redesign aspirations, Mary Woo's clean weblog

Redesign?. I'm thinking about redesigning my website again. ..-Russ [Russell Beattie Notebook]

This made me discover  Mary Woo's weblog, which is a model of style and cleanliness. But these qualities don't come from the visual aspect of her weblog only, it's a state of mind that's reflected in her posts... and I far my mind's nature's too messy to allow me for such simplicity.

Maybe later in my life: right now I'm content with this profusion of interests that have me read and post about so many different topics that my mind's always about to melt.

That said, maybe a redesign of my site would be mandated: I'm sick of the default radio template... but have no time to craft my own !

And I still need to make Jon's blogroll macro work correctly: it's still giving me an error everytime I try it. Maybe because I have my data directory not in the standard location.

standards proposal for personal media management

Open Standards Architectures. [Marc's Voice]

Interesting proposal about standards for personal media management.

This would solve many of my current problems managing my weblog (Radio), pictures (a set of perl scripts to run imagemagick, an ftp client, and slooze a PHP online photo album), music (mp3s on an external disk, winamp to play no management yet), and video (did not digitized the 10 1 hour digital tapes i have taken in the past 3 years), email (I use 2 different clients for personal and professional email), IM (I don't use IM) and future needs (moblogging, Russel's posts about this got me pretty excited about that).
