Huh? Corp: they have really smart people who are always thinking up totally cool shit

Padawan commented about my entry Mark Pilgrim goes commercial :-)

Along the same line of bloatware, I think you'll like this one:

http://www.huhcorp.com/

The Huh? Corp homepage is even more hilarious than Mark's, especially for those of us who lived through the .com craze !
The company presentation, "the world's newest and most dynamic e-business" reminds me these NPR Radio commercials they used to have in the Bay Area 3 years ago, about companies that are probably not in business anymore today.

The pages of the 2 artists who created this site: Greg Smith and Mia Tavonatti showcase some excellent artwork.
I like Greg's pictures of manhattan and the Flash browsing experience he built around it. And his portrait of Beckett is as profound as the character it depicts.

JBoss - IDE : looking behind the eclipse.

As of today the alpha release of the JBoss IDE is available ....a JBoss IDE ??? Yep, that's right : you can find it here

The zip file contains the documentation and a jar file containing the installer, an OpenSource project delivvering an installer, nice ;-)) and it worked great and lookes slick , even on my linux laptop.

The JBoss IDE is a plugin configuration for Eclipse so that you can :

  • Configure a number of servers that you start, stop and debug on from within Eclipse
  • Xdoclet support to generate JBoss-enabled EJB's using templates, variables and context dependent code assist.

One nice thing is that the default choices during the install procedure will enrich the Eclipse startup logo with a JBoss rocket ... it's off to go and see what is behind the eclipse ... ;-)

It's great to see that my two favourite OpenSource projects are playing nicely together.

Try it out !

Cool Log Analyzer: AWStats. Both Jeff and Anthony provide us with a tip to look at AWStats.

AWStats is a short for Advanced Web Statistics. It's a free tool that generates advanced web (but also ftp or mail) server access statistics graphically. This log analyzer works as a CGI or from command line and shows you all possible information your log contains, in few graphical web pages.

This package looks very cool - and it's free, Free, FREE! I wonder if I can get my ISP to replace my existing stats software with this one. [Raible Designs :: We Build Web Apps]
