I am crazybob, and this is my blog.. Welcome. I'm a Java consultant for OCI, Inc. I'm currently co-authoring the EJB sequel to Bitter Java with Bruce Tate. I touch on a wide variety of Java-based technolgies day-to-day, and I suspect that I'll ramble on about them here (that's the plan anyway). Rickard is convinced that blogs are the current forum of choice for the Java community, so I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring. [crazybob.org - web log]

Sun Software Quarterly Town Hall, Jonathan Schwartz. Sun Software Quarterly Town Hall, Jonathan Schwartz - The value of systems when you are moving to a new architecture is represented by the number of applications you can build because, for the most part, if you don't have those applications the next application will deliver a lot of value. But over time the value of a new application will slope off, as the value of integrating those applications together goes up.
Collaxa's Take:This is what is happening to the application server and J2EE: an increasing number of J2EE applications need to interact with other existing systems. In a reliable and loosely-coupled fashion. This is why J2EE and XML Web services are converging. Watch for JSR 159.

why Maven?. [James Strachan's Radio Weblog]

Useful post from James summing up Maven's advantages. Useful Post because instead of losing time trying to convince people in your company, you can just send them this bookmark: yes I'm a lazy guy (But Larry Wall expressed very well in the Camel book why this is an essential virtue for a programmer :-)

Runtime instrumentation in WebLogic.

Bob pulled it off!  His neat hack allows all EJB classes to be advisable with WebLogic.

Very cool stuff, and very small too!
