IBM acquires Rational.
...With the acquisition expect more emphasis for the Eclipse based product at the expense of the VS.NET based product. This leaves Microsoft at a vunerable position, unfortunately there's no UML vendor worth buying (that is a non-Java UML vendor worth buying) and Visio isn't going to cut the mustard....
